On 10/10/08 Colin Powell praised Alaska Senator Ted Stevens’ sense of honor at his trial on corruption charges. Powell praised his “sterling” reputation for honesty and integrity. There is allegation that Stevens lied on Senate forms to conceal Allen’s gifts.

Oil fell briefly below $78 per barrel on Friday, a 13-month low- as investors worried about the global economic meltdown. Oil reached a 2008 high of $147.27 per barrel on July 11, 2008.
